Military Experience

I served 10 years in the United States Air Force. I was awarded four Air Force Commendation Medals and two Air Force Achievement Medals for deployments to Iraq, Qatar, Diego Garcia, Guam and Greece.

What are some of the skills you learned in the military that you’ve used at Brink’s?

The ability to get along with and work with all types of people.

Why do you think a veteran’s experience makes him or her a natural fit for a career at Brink’s?

Veterans are programmed to perform under high pressure, adapt to all situations, and meet all challenges. Brink’s is a perfect fit as it provides challenges on a daily basis, structure, camaraderie and allows you to succeed and promote with hard work and determination.

Military Experience

I attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and received a BS in Foreign Languages and a Minor in Systems Engineering. I served on active duty as a Military Police Officer, where I held the positions of Platoon Leader, Battalion Personnel Officer, SWAT Team Leader and Assistant Brigade Training Officer. I was stationed in South Korea at Camp Red Cloud and Yongsan and later Ft. Lewis, Washington. I also attended the U.S. Army Airborne School at Ft. Benning, Ga.

Why do you think a veteran’s experience makes him or her a natural fit for a career at Brink’s?

The military instills grit in its people. It’s the ability to persevere under extreme pressure and focus energy decisively on a long-term goal without wavering or giving up. It’s this skill that is directly transferable and a predictor of success at Brink’s.

Military Experience

I served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Shreveport out of Norfolk, Va. I went to A-School at Dam Neck, Va., to become an Intelligence Specialist.

What are some of the skills you learned in the military that you’ve used at Brink’s?

Definitely discipline, focus, and effective communication. These skills are imperative for me to make an impact for our business.

What makes you Brink’s Proud?

Knowing that my work is delivering a quality outcome to the branches we recruit for. I’m able to use my industry knowledge to serve others.

How did Brink’s help you make the transition from a military career to one in the secure logistics industry?

For many who have recently transitioned out of the military, it’s not always the easiest task finding a place in the civilian world. Brink’s recognizes the potential of former Military service men and women.

Military Experience

I am a United Sates Marine. I enlisted as a 3051 Warehouse clerk in 1995. My Marine Corp basic training was at Parris Island, S.C., then I went to Camp Lejeune, N.C., for my MOS training. I was then given orders to be part of the 7th Marines at 29 Palms, Calif. At that time, women were not allowed to be part of combat units, so I was transferred to be with the Marine Corps Communication- Electronics School as permanent personnel to support the school.

How long have you worked at Brink’s?

I have been working for Brink’s almost 18 years.

What makes you Brink’s Proud?

I love my job, it is always a new day with new challenges, which help me get better with my problem solving skills. I also believe in myself to continue to do better for the company with my willingness to be successful in everything I do.

Military Experience

WWII vet. Joined the Army in 1944. Deployed overseas in Europe and drove convoy trucks, then deployed to Japan after the A-Bomb was dropped.

How long have you worked at Brink’s?

I’ve worked 33 years with Brinks, now working as a part-time employee. I’ll be 94 years old in March.

What’s been the best part about working for Brink’s?

Meeting all of the customers, internal and external. Training and camaraderie – I’ve made a lot of great friends from working here.

What makes you Brink’s Proud?

This makes us Brink’s Proud – Ralph doesn’t keep any of his paychecks. Instead, he donates all of earnings to various community efforts.
